Eighth Annual Cold Turkey Plunge

COVID or no COVID the Grand Gobbler will be braving the frigid waters of Corcoran Pond on Saturday 11/28 to take his 8th annual dip to benefit Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports. 

But, as all things have been this year, the exact details of the Plunge will be fluid right up until the day of the dip. Presently we hope to be able to have all members of the flock join in the Plunge. Accommodations will be made to insure that we all keep our social distance and masks will be required. But if science, circumstances or personal preference dictate we have a Plan B,  Our 2nd Annual Virtual Plunge. Plungers can join the Grand Gobbler’s Virtual Plunge Team. They’ll get an official Plunge Shirt and can have an exclusive Plunge Picture of them taking the dip through the magic of Photoshop!. Or, they can send us a video or photo of their most creative Virtual Plunge and we will post on-line.

We know that times are tough right now and as such we have reduced our fund raising goal this year. But the need for funds to run the Adaptive Programs remain a reality. All Plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $30 in order to participate.

This year WVAS will continue to host families of children with special needs for some winter fun. And, the program is expanding its outreach to New England Disabled Vets and their families to offer them the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful White Mountains. As always WVAS will provide snowsports lessons, equipment and support to children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities throughout the ski season.

All the money you raise goes directly to support our programs! The Plunge has become our biggest fundraiser thanks to your intrepid spirit, your generosity and that of your donors.
